Olympic D149 (code 197724) is a 96 page A4 exercise book ruled in 14mm dotted thirds with a red margin, sold in packs of 10.

Between the wide spacing used in the first year and the narrow 9mm books that come later, 14mm dotted thirds gives children a band that still guides letter height while asking for a little more control. Hamelin Brands, the owner of Olympic, describe D149 as ideal for structured writing and early years handwriting practice.

In the Hamelin page image each writing line is a solid blue rule with two dotted guides between it and the next, and a red margin runs down the left. With 96 pages this is the long edition of the 14mm book; the 48 and 64 page versions share the same ruling if a class wants a thinner book for a single unit. Hamelin note that this code replaced the older Tudor code 105081, which helps when a list still quotes the Tudor number.
