Read the epilepsy warning before anything else
The supplier's warning, in full: this carpet contains sequences of flashing lights which may affect individuals who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy and photosensitivities. Students must be supervised at all times while playing on the carpet.
That is not fine print and we are not burying it below the features. If you have a child in the room with photosensitive epilepsy, or you do not know whether you do, this needs a conversation before it is switched on.
What it is: a 95 x 95cm carpet with fibre optic strands running through it, lit from a rechargeable battery. Children sit or lie on it and the light comes up through the fibres.
No cable to the wall. It runs on its own battery and charges over USB, so it can go anywhere in a room - which is the practical advantage over a mains-powered light panel.
The battery is not replaceable. That is the supplier's own wording: a non-replaceable rechargeable lithium polymer battery. When it stops holding charge, the carpet is finished. For a $500 item that is worth factoring into how you think about its life.
The charger hides under the carpet. Turn it over and feel along the edge for a hook-and-loop pocket - the charging devices are in there. Worth telling whoever unpacks it, because it is not obvious.
Cleaning: wipe with a soft damp cloth, and it can be vacuumed. Do not immerse it in water and do not put it in a washing machine - there is a battery sewn into it.

Shipping & Delivery

Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
If your order arrives faulty, damaged, or incorrect, please contact Mega Office Supplies as soon as possible. Where required under Australian Consumer Law, a repair, replacement, or refund will be offered. In these cases, Mega Office Supplies will cover reasonable return shipping costs, and photographic evidence may be requested to help process the claim.
