Forty Small Plastic Solids for Exploring 3D Shapes

The photographs of this mini geometric solids set, supplied under code LGS40, are EDX Education's own images of its Geometric Solids 1 inch (25mm) set, item 21354, which EDX lists as 40 solids in four colours.

EDX Education lists ten shapes for item 21354, running from the sphere and hemisphere through several prisms and pyramids to a cone and a cylinder. EDX describes the pieces as plastic with a smooth finish and gives the size as 1 inch, or 25mm, in the item name. The colours shown in the photographs are red, blue, yellow and green.

Small solids suit a desk or a sorting tray, where students can turn each piece over to count its faces and edges, and EDX notes that children can find out which shapes roll, slide or stack. Sorting by shape and then by colour gives two ways to group the same pieces.

For bigger pieces, see the 5cm Geometric Volume Set in the EDX Education range, and browse more maths equipment, teacher resources and educational supplies for geometry lessons in the classroom.
