Lafayette 2-P76 is a two ply carbonless register roll, 76mm wide with a 76mm roll diameter, sold here as a carton of 24 to match the way Lafayette pack it.

Each docket prints on the top sheet and comes through on the sheet underneath, so the customer walks away with one copy and the counter keeps the other. In Lafayette's photograph the tail of the roll splits into a white sheet over a yellow one, which makes the two copies easy to tell apart when they are filed or matched up later.

Carbonless rolls belong in impact printers, the kind that strike the paper through an ink ribbon. Lafayette point out that these printers need a ribbon, sold separately, while thermal rolls are made for thermal printers instead. Unsure which type your machine uses? Scratch the surface of the current roll: thermal paper leaves a black mark, and bond or carbonless paper does not.
