Terracotta Air-Drying Clay, No Kiln Required

FIMOair 8103-76 is a 250g block of terracotta-coloured, air-drying modelling clay from Staedtler, sealed in a foil pack until you are ready to use it.

Staedtler describe FIMOair as clay-like, with a smooth consistency, and sum it up as pottery without a kiln: you shape the piece, leave it to dry in the air and it hardens without firing. The terracotta colour gives that warm flowerpot tone straight out of the pack, which is handy for planters, pinch pots and anything meant to look like fired earthenware.

Once hardened, a model can still be filed, sanded, drilled, painted or varnished, and Staedtler call the clay dimensionally stable. The foil wrapping is there to stop the block drying out before it is opened.

Staedtler aim FIMOair at art, leisure and hobby use and at schools and kindergartens. The same 250g size also comes in white, pale pink and grey.

Terracotta sits within our modelling clay range; see also FIMO, educational craft supplies and art and craft supplies.
