Year 8 Science Exam Preparation Made Manageable
Excel SmartStudy Science Year 8 by Geoffrey Thickett and Jim Stamell is a structured revision program for class tests, half-yearly exams and end-of-year exams in Year 8 Science.
The book moves through five steps: quick revision, revision summaries, a revision test, sample exam papers and checking answers. Chapters follow the science strands, with biological sciences covering cells and body systems, chemical sciences covering elements and compounds, earth and space sciences covering minerals and rocks plus ores and environmental issues, and physical sciences covering energy. The publisher states the content follows the Australian Curriculum.
A skills chapter on investigations and problem solving supports practical and inquiry questions. Tips for the sample exams prepare students for test conditions, and the answers let them mark their own work. A results section, feedback checklist and index make it easy to track progress and find topics quickly.
Schools and families can browse more educational books and activity books and workbooks for secondary science, plus writing supplies for school and book coverings to keep study guides tidy through the year.
