Graphitone 6B: Derwent water-soluble graphite stick
Derwent Watersoluble Graphitone 6B is a round stick of pure graphite, with no wood casing, that dissolves into tone with water.
Graphitone 6B comes from Derwent's Watersoluble Graphitone range, which has 4 degrees and a choice of wash strengths from light to very dark. There is no wood around the graphite; the stick is held in a paper wrapper that peels off. Wrapped, it draws like a pencil. Unwrapped, it gives broad sweeps of tone, whole or broken into pieces, and water turns the marks into soft washes.
Our product code is AA700449 and the Derwent code is 0700449, sold here as a box of 12. Derwent's range features table gives Graphitone a smooth texture, a 7mm core and a wax-based, water-soluble make-up, and marks it as suitable for fine detail. Point strength and erasing are rated 4.
See Water Soluble Pencils for more pencils that can be used with water, and Pencils for every pencil type we sell. For the rest of our drawing and colouring materials, go to Drawing & Colouring.
