Derwent Drawing Pencil Chinese White Box of 6

Chinese White is a versatile, opaque white pigment suited to adding highlights, creating base layers, and building tonal contrast. It works especially well on tinted or dark papers where a standard light pencil would not show effectively. Artists use it in portraiture, botanical work, and detailed illustration.

The Derwent Drawing range uses a wider 5mm colour strip and an earthy, nature-inspired palette compared to the broader spectrum found in Coloursoft or competing brands. The texture is soft and creamy but retains enough body for detailed work. The 8-ply round barrel is also slightly wider than a standard artist pencil, making it comfortable for extended sessions.

This box contains 6 identical Derwent Drawing Pencils in Chinese White (7200). It is a refill carton of a single colour, not an assortment. This format suits artists and educators who need a consistent supply of one specific colour without purchasing a full set.

Yes, they perform well on white cartridge paper, watercolour paper, and illustration board. Chinese White shows its full opacity and blending capability on tinted, mid-tone, or dark papers, where its highlight potential is most visible. On bright white paper it is best used for soft tonal transitions and texture.

Yes, the 8mm round barrel is compatible with standard and heavy-duty pencil sharpeners. A long-point sharpener or artist sharpener is recommended to preserve the colour strip and avoid breakage during sharpening. Sandpaper blocks can also be used for fine tip work.
