The Derwent Academy Watercolour Pencil in Vandyke Brown (shade 55) combines the control of a pencil with the subtle beauty of watercolour. Use dry for soft blending and layering, or add water to activate the 3.5mm water-soluble strip and create flowing washes of colour. Unlike permanent ink pencils, watercolour remains re-workable once dry, letting you lift and move colour freely.

The highly pigmented strip is encased in hexagonal Californian incense cedar wood for comfortable grip and easy sharpening. Ideal for mixed media work, subtle painting, and detailed drawing, this box contains 6 pencils of the same Vandyke Brown shade.

  • 3.5mm water-soluble strip - use wet or dry for drawing and painting
  • Highly pigmented for maximum colour purity and light fastness
  • Hexagonal Californian incense cedar barrel for easy grip and sharpening
  • Watercolour is re-workable when dry - re-wet to lift and move colour
  • Watercolour painting and mixed media artwork
  • Detailed drawing and illustration
  • Art classes and creative studio work
