Burnt Carmine in the Derwent Artists range for layered colour work

Burnt Carmine from the Derwent Artists range, colour number 6500, with a strong point for layering and blending.

Derwent Artists Burnt Carmine carries colour number 6500 and Derwent code 3206500. Derwent sizes the core at 4mm and describes this larger core as made for broad, expressive strokes. The core is wax-based and highly pigmented, with a texture Derwent rates as firm, and it lays colour down smoothly and richly. Bold landscapes and detailed illustrations both sit within the range's scope, and the full list runs to 78 colours. The strong point can sustain layering and blending techniques.

The colour number in the Derwent list is 6500, a handy cross-check against stock on the shelf. Our product code is AA3206500 and the Derwent code is 3206500. All 6 pencils in the box are Burnt Carmine. Selling it by the box lets a school or studio replace one colour without opening a full set.

Pencils gathers the wider pencil range, from graphite to everyday writing pencils. Other Derwent and art pencil lines are filed under Artist Pencils. Pens and other desk supplies for the same delivery are in Writing Supplies.
