Cadmium Red P130: fine grade pastel in pencil form

Cadmium Red is colour P130 in Derwent Pastel Pencils, a chalky, powder-based pastel pencil with a 4mm core, sold here as a box of 6.

Cadmium Red (P130) is a Derwent Pastel pencil: fine grade pastel held in a pencil with a 4mm, powder-based core. Derwent lists the texture as chalky and says the fine chalk gives a laydown of soft colour that blends, with high pigment and minimal dusting. With water, the same marks can be opened out into light washes, since pastel is naturally water-soluble.

Quote our code AA2300242 or Derwent code 2300242 when ordering. We sell Cadmium Red as a box of 6 pencils, all the same colour. Derwent's catalogue gives Cadmium Red a Blue Wool rating of 5, on a scale graded 0 to 8 where 8 is the highest rating.

This pencil is filed in Craft Pastels with the other pastel lines we stock. The broader Art & Craft Supplies collection holds the rest of our drawing and painting materials for studios, art rooms and design offices.
