Tall card cones as a base for trees and figures
Zart Large Cardboard Cones, supplier code PA052, are 18cm cones made from sturdy cardboard, used as a starting point for clay, Sculpt-It and papier mache, or on their own for craft projects.
The Creative School Supply Company, which makes Zart, sells these cones in three sizes: 7.5cm Small, 12cm Medium and 18cm Large. This listing is the 18cm Large size. The supplier says the cones make a great base for trees or figures, and the large size gives a taller starting form than the other two.
A ready-made cone saves building a form from scratch. Students can cover it with clay or papier mache to model a tree, a figure or a character, or decorate the cardboard directly for a simpler project, leaving more time for shaping and finishing.
A cone is the frame, and the modelling material does the rest. Cover the cones with modelling clay, fix layers with craft glues, finish them with craft paints, and find more forms in craft cardboards.
