Antique Green for Heritage Style Decorative Painting
Antique Green is a muted, greyed sage that gives painted furniture, frames and folk art motifs an aged, heritage look.
On the swatch, Antique Green sits between sage and olive, softened with grey so it never shouts. The deep green label band lists Vert Antique, Antikgrün and Verde Antiguo beneath the English name, along with a Series 1 mark. Painters who restyle old chairs, trinket boxes or picture frames often want exactly this sort of subdued, lived-in green for borders, leaves and background panels.
Because the colour is already toned down, Antique Green suits backgrounds that need to recede behind brighter motifs. The 75ml size covers several small projects, packs flat in a tote for classes, ready for the next session at the craft table.
Team Antique Green with timber pieces and boards from art paper and canvas, choose flat and liner brushes in craft paint brushes, and look through painting mediums for a varnish to seal the finished heritage piece.
