Brilliant Violet for Irises, Lavender and Twilight
Choose Jo Sonja's Brilliant Violet in 250ml for a clear violet that suits irises, lavender sprigs and evening skies.
Brilliant Violet appears blue violet through the bottle and brushes out as a mid purple in the swatch photo, a handy middle value among the purples. Its label lists PV.23RS:PW.6 as the pigment, marks Brilliant Violet as Series 1 and prints ASTM 1. Brilliant Violet in 250ml suits larger canvases and furniture.
Lavender heads, iris falls and dusk skies need a purple that is neither muddy nor too dark, and this violet sits comfortably in between. Violet also works for fairy and fantasy pieces, amethyst crystals and the cool shadow side of grey stonework.
Iris and lavender work in Brilliant Violet benefits from a fine liner in craft paint brushes for stems and veins. Companion greens and yellows wait in acrylic paints, with art and craft supplies covering the boxes, plaques and blanks to paint on.
