Deep violet-leaning blue for night skies and shadows
Cool Blue is a deep blue with a noticeable violet lean, well suited to night skies, deep water and cool shadow areas in student paintings.
Teachers who teach colour temperature often stock a cool and a warm version of each primary so students can compare them side by side. This is the cool blue in the Chromacryl line, supplied in a 1 litre bottle for class use. The silver label band reads COOL BLUE, below the Medium Bodied and Students Acrylic lines printed on the black panel.
Because the pigment leans toward violet, Cool Blue gives a moody depth that a brighter blue cannot, which helps in lessons on dusk, storms and shadow. Buying a full litre also means the comparison lesson can run across several classes without the cool side of the palette running dry.
Pair it with Warm Blue from the wider acrylic paint range, add tools from painting accessories for palettes and mixing trays, and protect uniforms with smocks and aprons when the whole class paints together.
