Dioxazine Purple, from Near-Black to Clear Violet

Dioxazine Purple is an aubergine so dark it reads almost black in the thick band, opening into a clear violet wherever it is thinned.

Chroma prints DIOXAZINE PURPLE on a deep violet band, with an open circle and Series 3, and repeats it as Pourpre Dioxazine, Pourpre de Dioxazine and Púrpura de Dioxazina. The black Atelier band below carries Fine Artists' Paint and Est. 1965, while the white lower section of this purple tube reads Interactive Acrylic, Unlockable Formula, above the Chroma logo.

Dusk skies, deep floral shadows and jacaranda or lavender blooms all suit this dark purple. An 80ml tube suits steady studio painting and packs neatly into a class or travel bag, while the violet band keeps it distinct from the blues on a crowded shelf.

Dioxazine Purple in 80ml is code AI18810, a Series 3 tube. Other parts of a cool palette are in other acrylic colours, painting supplies, paint brushes and surfaces to paint on.

FAQs

Just one 80ml tube of Dioxazine Purple from Chroma Atelier Interactive, with no swatch card, brushes or mediums included.
At full strength our photo shows a very dark aubergine, and the thinner band shows violet. How dark it appears depends on how thickly the purple is applied.
It is one of Chroma's label symbols. We cannot see the key to it in our photos of Dioxazine Purple, so we do not interpret it.
No. Unlockable Formula is printed on the label, but you receive only the 80ml tube of paint.
