Deep Violet Dioxazine Purple for Shadows and Twilight

Atelier Interactive Diox Purple by Chroma, printed on the jar as Dioxazine Purple, brings 250ml of a deep violet for twilight skies, shadows and florals.

The price list shortens the name to Diox Purple, but the jar front spells out Dioxazine Purple under the Interactive logo and the Artists' Acrylic line. Our swatch photo shows a near-black violet where the paint is thick and a rich purple where the brush thins it. The brush-out leans blue-violet, fading to lavender, which suits dusk skies, jacaranda, irises and moody shadow work.

Dark violets often anchor the shadows of a large painting, so the 250ml jar of Dioxazine Purple is a practical studio size. Reach in with a palette knife through the broad opening, work across big areas, and seal the black screw lid when finished.

Find blues, magentas and violets to work with Dioxazine Purple in our acrylic paints range, palettes in painting accessories, brushes in craft paint brushes, and AI18840 canvases in art paper and canvas.

FAQs

One AI18840 jar holding 250ml of Diox Purple. Brushes for this dioxazine purple are sold separately.
Dioxazine Purple appears near black in the thick part of the hero swatch and rich purple where thin. The AI18840 brush-out photo is an intense blue-violet that fades to lavender. Screens can render violets quite differently, so treat this as a guide.
Its label line is Artists' Acrylic. Although the name Dioxazine Purple points to the colour family, we do not quote pigment codes for AI18840 because the jar side print is unreadable in our photos.
Dioxazine Purple sits in Series 3 on the price list. That places AI18840 alongside the quinacridones and napthols in price, above Series 1 and 2 jars.
