Cadmium Red Medium Hue, a strong all-round red
Cadmium Red Medium Hue is a strong, balanced mid red for poppies, red cars, lips, flags and any subject that needs a confident primary red.
Its tube carries a red shoulder label with Cadmium Red Medium Hue, a solid dot marked Opaque, and Nuance de Rouge de Cadmium Moyen, Kadmiumrot Mittel Ton and Rojo Cadmio Mediano Tono. The swatch is a saturated red that stays strong even in the scraped lower section. Like the rest of the series, the tube is printed Atelier A2 and "Heavy Body Acrylic", in 120mL.
A primary red is one of the first colours to run out on many palettes, and a 120ml tube keeps a working supply in a studio caddy or travel case. Squeeze a little for a small study and cap the tube so the remainder stays sealed for the next painting.
Build out your primaries from A2 acrylic paints, add round and flat brushes from our brush collection, and pick surfaces from art paper and canvas to put Cadmium Red Medium Hue to work.
