The Brother PT-D210 prints from its own QWERTY keyboard, so there is no app to pair, no driver to install and no computer to wait for.

This is the machine for the person who labels a shelf, a file and a storeroom bin in the same ten minutes. Type on the keyboard, read the label back on the graphic display before it prints, and cut it off. Fourteen fonts, 617 symbols and 98 frames are built in, along with a 17 design template library, so a legible label takes seconds rather than a trip to the office printer.

It takes genuine Brother TZe cassettes in 3.5mm, 6mm, 9mm and 12mm. TZe tape seals the print between two protective films, which is why the same tape survives a kitchen, a workshop and a storeroom without lifting or fading. Labels can run up to 300mm long and store 2,400 characters across 30 areas.

Replacement cassettes are in the Brother TZe tape range in the 3.5mm to 12mm widths this machine accepts. If you need 18mm or 24mm labels, look at the Brother PT-D460BT or the PT-D610BT, and the full range sits in Brother P-Touch label makers.

It takes Brother TZe cassettes in 3.5mm, 6mm, 9mm and 12mm. Twelve millimetres is the maximum. An 18mm or 24mm TZe cassette will not fit this machine, so if you need labels that wide you want a PT-D460BT, PT-D610BT or one of the P-touch machines that goes to 24mm.

No. The PT-D210 is a standalone labeller with its own keyboard and screen, and Brother does not list it as PC or Mac connectable. If you want to design labels on a phone, the PT-P300BT Cube does that job at a similar price.

Neither. The machine needs six AAA batteries and they are sold separately. The AD-5000ES mains adapter is also optional. For a machine that stays on a desk, the adapter is worth adding so it is always ready.

Yes. Brother TZe laminated tape carries the printed layer between two clear protective films, so it stands up to water, cleaning chemicals, abrasion, sunlight and temperature swings. It is the same tape specified for plant and equipment labelling.
