Avery describes a black backing that covers what is underneath, so an old spine label or previous writing on the file does not read through the new one. The black sits behind the printable white face; it is not what you see. Note that Avery does not put the TrueBlock name in this code's title or specification, so neither do we.

Black. This matters because it has been got wrong in both directions. Our own listing used to say an opaque white layer, which Avery has never said. Some copy in the trade says silver, which traces to an old Avery description block that Avery contradicts in the bullet list on the same page. Avery's current and dominant wording is an opaque black backing.

Avery says it covers everything underneath completely. They publish no opacity percentage or measurement anywhere in this range, and their own category page drops the word "completely", so we will describe what the backing is for and let you test it on the file or box you actually use.

200 x 60mm, 4 to an A4 sheet, with 25 sheets in the pack for 100 labels in total. Avery publishes the total and the sheet count; the labels per sheet follows from those two.

Avery sells this range in three board weights and several pack sizes under the same software code. The premium codes are 131gsm, the older shipping, smooth feed and filing codes are 148gsm, and the kraft codes are 200gsm. The TrueBlock name is not tied to a weight: it appears on codes in both the 131gsm and the 148gsm groups. The software code, not the pack size, is what decides whether a template will line up.

Not published. Avery gives no opacity figure, no adhesive peel strength, no temperature range, and nothing about water, freezer or outdoor use for any code in this range. If any of that decides the purchase, ask us and we will put it to the supplier rather than guess.
