Avery says it covers everything underneath completely. They publish no opacity percentage or measurement anywhere in this range, and their own category page drops the word "completely", so we will describe what the backing is for and let you test it on the carton you actually use.

Avery sells this range in three board weights and several pack sizes under the same software code. The premium codes are 131gsm, the older shipping, smooth feed and filing codes are 148gsm, and the kraft codes are 200gsm. The TrueBlock name is not tied to a weight: it appears on codes in both the 131gsm and the 148gsm groups. The software code, not the pack size, is what decides whether a template will line up.

Avery names parcels, boxes, large envelopes and mailing tubes. It says nothing about plastic drums, textured surfaces or outdoor use, so nor do we.
