White. The twelve colour cycle covers A to X, and Y, Z, Mc and the forward slash sit outside it. Avery prints the letter Y on white as well, so where a set uses both, the printed character is what separates them.

Where it goes. A top tab label sits on the top edge of the file so the code reads from above, and a side tab label sits on the side edge so it reads from the drawer face. Avery does not state that one suits a particular filing setup better than the other, so choose by which edge your files are read from.

It fits any twin tab lateral file, including Avery QuickVue files. That is the compatibility Avery publishes for this range.
