HEPA and Carbon in a Single AM 3/4 Filter

Fellowes 9436902 is a two pack of hybrid filters for the AeraMax Pro AM 3/4 and 3S/4S, each combining half True HEPA and half activated carbon in one filter.

Where the standard AM 3/4 set uses a separate True HEPA filter and carbon filter, the hybrid puts both media into one frame. On Fellowes' figures the True HEPA half traps 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.3 microns, while the carbon half deals with odours and VOCs. Fellowes also describe an antimicrobial treatment on the HEPA media; we quote their exact wording in the specifications, and they name no agent or test standard.

Each hybrid is good for about a year by Fellowes' reckoning, though use affects it, and the two pack covers two purifiers or two years in one. A general office setting where you want both particle and odour filtering without managing separate parts is the obvious fit: open plan floors, reception areas and shared meeting rooms. Fellowes publish two depths for this filter, so we do not state one.
