Most offices default to the lightest everyday weight and only notice the limit when they start printing both sides, where text ghosts through and a heavier sheet fixes it outright. Brightness is the second figure, deciding how sharp black text looks and how printed colour reads. Once usage is steady, buying by the carton costs less per sheet than by the ream.
