The mechanism is the caveat. The ink turns clear above a threshold temperature rather than being lifted off, so a page left in a hot vehicle, run through a laminator or ironed comes back blank. Cold restores it, which is a recovery trick rather than a plan. Excellent for planners and working notes, wrong for anything that has to survive as a record.
