The Bread and Side Plate of the Rimless Coupe Set
Connoisseur 5200418 is the 180 mm A-La-Carte coupe side plate, a small rimless white porcelain plate that sits to the left of the main setting for bread, butter or a slice of cake, packed 6 to a pack.
It completes the coupe trio with the 230 mm and 270 mm plates: the same curved, rim free profile scaled down for side service. Because there is no flat border, a bread roll, a pastry or a dessert portion uses the full 180 mm face, and the plates nest neatly when stacked on a pass or in a cupboard.
The porcelain is reinforced and resists thermal shock according to Weatherdon, who also class this side plate as microwaveable and dishwasher safe. In an office kitchen it doubles as the everyday plate for a sandwich or morning tea, without the bulk of a dinner plate in the drying rack.
