Staedtler call this colour red metallic. On the barrel it reads as a deep rosy red with a sheen, which sits well beside gold and silver on Christmas cards, Valentine notes and Lunar New Year envelopes. It is the same 8323 fibre-tip marker as the gold and silver, so the colours can be mixed on one design.

According to Staedtler the ink covers opaquely on pale and dark papers alike, and on card, and the marker is ready the moment the cap comes off: no pumping or shaking required. The rounded tip leaves a line of about 1 to 2 mm, comfortable for names on gift tags or a hand-lettered greeting.
