An Earthy Brick Red With A Dry, Dusty Stroke

Stabilo 0178035 is English Deep Red, a brownish brick red from the Stabilo CarbOthello pastel pencil range, printed 1400/655 on the barrel.

English Deep Red belongs with the earth colours rather than the bright reds. It suits old brick walls, terracotta pots, rusted iron, autumn leaves and the warm shadow side of a face, and it sits comfortably next to Burnt Umber and Bister when a drawing is built from natural pigments.

ACCO describe the stroke as wonderfully dry and dusty, which is the soft, matt character people expect from pastel. The lead is 4.4mm across and sits in a wooden shaft that protects it from breaking, so it can be carried in a pencil case rather than a separate pastel box.

FAQs

Our title reads as one English Deep Red pencil and states no count. ACCO list 0178035 by the box but publish no box quantity, so contact our team before ordering to confirm what the price covers.
It is ACCO wording for the soft, matt mark that pastel leaves, as opposed to the waxy line of a standard colour pencil.
No. It is a brownish brick red. For a clearer red look at Carmine Red Medium 0177877.
That is not something ACCO list for this pencil, so we make no water blending claim for English Deep Red.
