Large Rectangular Carpet Protection Built From Polycarbonate

The Marbig Tuffmat 87191 is the large rectangular chairmat in Marbig's polycarbonate range, rated for carpet and held in place by a spiked gripper backing rather than by adhesive.

Polycarbonate gives this mat a rigid, high clarity body that stays flat under a loaded office chair. The underside carries a dense grid of gripper spikes that press down into carpet pile, which is what stops the mat wandering as the chair moves across it. The published rating for the 87191 is carpet with a pile depth of up to 12mm, covering the low and medium pile carpet used through most commercial offices and home studies.

At 1200mm by 1500mm this is the larger of the two rectangular carpet sizes listed. It takes the desk footprint and the chair travel in front of it without the castors running off an edge. The clear finish leaves the carpet colour showing through.

On a hard surface those spikes sit on the finish rather than into it. Marbig makes a smooth backed Tuffmat for hard floors, which is the correct mat for those surfaces.
The published rating for the 87191 is carpet with a pile depth of up to 12mm, which covers most low and medium pile commercial and domestic carpet. On deeper or very soft pile the mat sinks in and the chair becomes harder to push, so the rating is worth checking against your floor before ordering.
