Three 4K Monitors, 140W Charging and 13 Ports From One Thunderbolt 5 Cable

The Kensington SD5010T5 EQ Thunderbolt 5 Triple 4K Docking Station turns a Thunderbolt 5 laptop into a full desktop workstation, with two HDMI 2.1 ports so standard monitors plug straight in.

Most offices already own HDMI monitors, and most premium laptops now ship with two or three USB-C ports and little else. The SD5010T5 closes that gap. One Thunderbolt 5 cable to the laptop carries up to 80Gbps of data, video for three displays and up to 140W of charging, while the dock supplies 2.5Gbps Ethernet, three USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, an audio jack and SD plus Micro SD card readers. It also works with Thunderbolt 4, USB4 and USB-C laptops, so one dock covers a mixed Windows and Mac fleet.

Windows users get triple 4K at 144Hz or dual 8K. MacBook users get dual 4K over HDMI, or 6K plus 4K by using the Thunderbolt 5 port, with triple display on M5 Pro and M5 Max machines. Bandwidth Boost lifts video bandwidth to 120Gbps for editing and CAD work, and KonstantCharge keeps phones and headsets topped up after the laptop leaves the desk.

The compact 140mm square case is made from 100 percent recycled aluminium, has both Kensington security slots, and takes the optional VESA mount so it disappears behind the monitor. Free DockWorks software for Windows manages connections, and Kensington backs the SD5010T5 with a 3 year limited warranty.

Often ordered together:

  • Thunderbolt 5 host connection moves data at up to 80Gbps, with Bandwidth Boost lifting video bandwidth to 120Gbps for large media files and multi-display work.
  • Two HDMI 2.1 ports plus a Thunderbolt 5 downstream port run three 4K monitors at up to 144Hz on Windows, or dual 4K over HDMI on Apple silicon MacBooks.
  • Up to 140W dynamic power delivery over USB-C PD 3.1 charges high-power laptops through the same single cable that carries data and video.
  • KonstantCharge keeps phones, headsets and other accessories charging from the dock even when the laptop is unplugged.
  • 13 ports in one compact 140mm square unit, including 2.5Gbps Ethernet, three USB-A, two USB-C, an audio combo jack and SD plus Micro SD 4.0 card readers.
  • Kensington Security Slot and Nano Security Slot let you tether the dock with a standard cable lock, and the VESA mount option clears it off the desk entirely.
  • Outer case is 100 percent post-consumer recycled aluminium, shipped in FSC certified packaging and backed by a 3 year limited warranty.
  • Hot desks and shared workstations where staff arrive with different Thunderbolt 5, Thunderbolt 4, USB4 or USB-C laptops and need one cable to connect everything.
  • Video editors, designers and photographers moving large files from SD and Micro SD cards while driving two or three high resolution monitors.
  • Finance, engineering and data teams running triple-screen Windows setups from a single laptop.
  • MacBook Pro users who want dual 4K HDMI monitors plus wired 2.5Gbps Ethernet without a tangle of adapters.
  • Corporate fleet deployments where the dock is VESA mounted behind the monitor and secured with a Kensington lock.
  • Home offices that need to charge a 100W-plus laptop and expand its ports from one tidy desktop unit.

FAQs

Both are Thunderbolt 5 docks with 140W charging and the same 80Gbps speed. The SD5010T5 uses two HDMI 2.1 ports plus one Thunderbolt 5 port for video, so you can plug standard HDMI monitors straight in without adapters. The SD5000T5 uses three Thunderbolt 5 downstream ports instead, which suits USB-C monitors and gives macOS users the dual 6K option. If your monitors are HDMI, the SD5010T5 is the simpler and cheaper choice.
Yes. The dock is backward compatible with Thunderbolt 4, USB4 and USB-C 3.2 laptops running Windows 11 23H2 or later, or macOS 14.5 or later. Speed and the number of displays scale to what your laptop can support, so a Thunderbolt 4 machine still gets dual displays and full charging, just not the 120Gbps Bandwidth Boost.
It depends on the chip. MacBooks with M1 or M2 base chips support one external display. M3 base supports two with the lid closed. M2, M3 and M4 Pro and Max chips and M4 and M5 base chips support two, typically dual 4K over HDMI or 6K plus 4K using the Thunderbolt port. Only the M5 Pro and M5 Max run three displays from this dock.
Yes, as long as the laptop supports USB-C PD 3.1 Extended Power Range. The dock delivers up to 140W to the laptop from its included 180W power supply, and KonstantCharge keeps your accessories charging even after you unplug the laptop and leave for the day.
Yes. The dock has both a standard Kensington Security Slot and a Nano Security Slot, so any Kensington cable lock such as the Slim NanoSaver 2.0 will secure it. The Kensington Docking Station VESA Mount 2.0 (K34050WW) bolts it behind a monitor or under the desk and is sold separately.
