The Derwent Artists Pencil in Grape delivers a deep, saturated colour in a slightly waxy formula that blends, layers, and shades with remarkable ease.

FAQs

This listing contains a box of 6 Derwent Artists Pencils, all in the Grape colour. Every pencil is identical, making it convenient for classrooms, shared studios, or artists who use this shade regularly.
Derwent Artists Pencils have a larger-diameter colour strip and a slightly waxier texture, making them better suited to broad strokes, layering, and expressive drawing. The Derwent Studio range uses a finer strip and is better suited to detailed, precise work.
Yes. The slightly waxy formula and large colour strip make blending and shading approachable for students and beginners while still meeting the expectations of practised artists. They are a popular choice in art education settings across Australia.
Yes. All 120 shades in the Derwent Artists Pencil range share the same formula and barrel size, so Grape pencils blend naturally alongside any other colour in the series. Mixing and layering across the full range is straightforward.
These pencils perform well on most fine-art papers, including cartridge, hot-press, and cold-press watercolour paper. A slightly textured surface tends to give the best colour pick-up and blending results.
