Kingfisher Blue P380: fine grade pastel in pencil form

Six Derwent Pastel pencils in Kingfisher Blue, each with a chalky 4mm pastel core and the Derwent colour number P380.

Kingfisher Blue (P380) is a Derwent Pastel pencil: fine grade pastel held in a pencil with a 4mm, powder-based core. Derwent lists the texture as chalky and says the fine chalk gives a laydown of soft colour that blends, with high pigment and minimal dusting. With water, the same marks can be opened out into light washes, since pastel is naturally water-soluble.

We supply Kingfisher Blue as a box of 6 pencils in the one colour. Quote AA2300267 with us, or 2300267 against the Derwent catalogue, where this colour is listed as P380. Derwent grades Kingfisher Blue at 8 on its Blue Wool lightfast scale, which runs from 0 to 8 with 8 the highest rating.

This pencil is filed in Craft Pastels with the other pastel lines we stock. The broader Art & Craft Supplies collection holds the rest of our drawing and painting materials for studios, art rooms and design offices. Every Derwent pastel pencil shade we list is gathered in Derwent Pastel Pencils.
