Strip seal is ACCO's name for a peel and press closure. A narrow release liner runs along the flap; you lift it off and press the flap down. No water, no sponge and no moistening machine are involved, which is why it suits a bench where envelopes are filled and sealed by hand.

This is a plain face envelope with no secretive lining. A secretive envelope carries an opaque printed pattern on the inside of the paper so the contents cannot be read when it is held up to the light.
