Permanent Alizarine for Deep Crimson Passages
Permanent Alizarine is a deep brick crimson at full body that turns a shimmering rose red in the thin band of our swatch, suited to deep red flowers, dark fruit and wine.
On a crimson band, Chroma prints PERMANENT ALIZARINE with an open circle and Series 4, and the translations Alizarine Permanent and Permanentalizarin beneath. Towards the base of the colour band the lettering is partly cut off in our photos. The black Atelier panel reads Fine Artists' Paint over Est. 1965, and on the white body sit Interactive Acrylic and Unlockable Formula.
Dark cherries, red wine in still life, deep roses and the shadow side of red drapery all suit a crimson this rich. An 80ml tube suits regular studio use and fits a plein air box, and the crimson band helps tell it apart from the brighter reds.
Permanent Alizarine is code AI22950 in Series 4. Pair it with more acrylic paints, mediums for acrylic painting, paint brushes and canvas and painting paper. Together they make up a deep red palette.
