Yellow Oxide, a golden earth ochre

Yellow Oxide is a golden earth ochre for dry grass, sandstone, wheat fields and warm skin tones.

This tube's mustard shoulder label prints Yellow Oxide, a solid dot marked Opaque, and Jaune d'Oxyde, Oxidgelb and Amarillo Oxido. Our swatch shows a rich ochre in the heavier stroke and a lighter honey gold where the paint is scraped thin. The ochre tube's lower section shows Atelier, A2, "Heavy Body Acrylic" and 120mL, 4 US fl oz.

Earth yellows like this appear in landscapes, figure work and portraiture, and a 120ml tube keeps a working supply in the kit. It is one of the four colours in the A2 Portrait Essentials set, so it suits painters testing that limited palette at a larger size.

Find the other Portrait Essentials colours and more earths in acrylic paints, choose a filbert or round from our brush range, and pick art paper and canvas for Yellow Oxide landscapes and portraits.
