One Cartridge, Thirty Thousand Pages
The Brother HC-05BK is a genuine high yield black ink cartridge for the Brother HL-S7000DN high-speed workgroup printer, rated by Brother at approximately 30,000 pages in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711.
The HL-S7000DN is a monochrome machine, so black is the only ink it takes and this is the only ink cartridge it needs. One part number to stock, one to reorder, and a change interval measured in tens of thousands of pages rather than hundreds. Brother Australia now lists the printer itself as a discontinued product, but the cartridge is still published, so an installed machine can be kept in service.
At approximately 30,000 pages, a workgroup pushing continuous jobs through an HL-S7000DN changes ink far less often than the same workload would demand of a conventional desktop machine. Brother measures that figure in accordance with ISO/IEC 24711; what you actually get varies with the documents going through the printer, because a page of heavy coverage draws more ink than a page of plain text. The cartridge supplied in the box with a new machine is a smaller starter rated at approximately 10,000 pages.
Brother develops its ink alongside its own printheads, which counts for more on a high-speed inkjet than on a slow one - paper leaves the print zone quickly, so the ink has to wet the sheet, hold its edge and set without smearing at speed. Replacement is a tool-free front-loading operation that takes seconds, with no service call.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements
Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier.
