A single C-cell holder with two 10cm insulated leads, red and black. Battery not included.

The alternative to a holder is a child holding a wire against each end of a battery with their thumbs, which works for about four seconds and teaches nothing except that circuits are frustrating. A holder makes the power source stay put, so the lesson can be about the rest of the circuit.

Red and black leads are not decoration. They are how a student learns that a circuit has a direction, and they are what makes it possible to say "black to the black" rather than describing wires by where they happen to be lying.

It works with: the 50cm alligator clip leads we stock (supplier code 51171), and the 2.5V screw-base bulbs. The supplier also lists battery snaps under code 51139 which we do not currently stock - ask us if you want them.

Batteries are not included. It takes one C cell.

No. It takes one C cell, which you supply. C cells are the fat ones - not AA.
C cells last far longer under the short-circuit conditions students inevitably create, and they are big enough for small hands to insert without a struggle.
Yes - that is how you demonstrate series and parallel power sources. Two holders wired in series gives 3V and a noticeably brighter bulb.
The 2.5V screw-base bulbs from our 100-pack. Do not use it with the 12V lamp on a stand - one C cell will barely make that glow.
They are 10cm, which is deliberately short - the holder is meant to be extended with alligator clip leads rather than reach across the bench itself.

Returns, Refunds & Replacements

Mega Office Supplies accepts change-of-mind returns for unopened and unused products within 14 days from the invoice date, provided the item is returned in its original packaging and in resalable condition. Original shipping costs are not refundable, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a restocking fee may apply depending on the product type and supplier. Some items, including electronics, assembled or installed furniture, food, beverages, medicines, custom-made products, and certain bulk or special-order items, are not eligible for return unless required under Australian Consumer Law.
