Derwent Inktense Pencil Shiraz Box of 6

Unlike conventional watercolour pencils, Inktense pigments become permanent once they dry after water activation. This means you can layer colours on top of earlier washes without reactivating the colour underneath, giving you far greater depth and control in mixed-media work.

Yes. Inktense pencils are suitable for use on natural fabrics including silk and cotton. Once the colour has been applied with water and allowed to dry fully, it fixes into the fibres and withstands washing, making them a practical choice for textile decoration and wearable art.

The box contains 6 Derwent Inktense pencils all in the Shiraz (0600) shade. Buying a box rather than a single pencil ensures you have a consistent supply of the same colour on hand for larger projects or frequent use.

Yes. Inktense pencils can be used completely dry to lay down smooth, vibrant colour in the traditional pencil manner. Adding water then intensifies the pigment and creates an ink-like wash effect. Both techniques can be combined in the same artwork.

Inktense pigments dry quickly and produce minimal bleed, so you can position rich colours like Shiraz close to other hues without significant bleeding. Allowing each area to dry before working an adjacent section further reduces any risk of colours merging.
