These get confused with privacy filters and they solve opposite problems. An anti glare panel has a matte face that scatters reflected light, which helps under fluorescent lighting or near a window, and it does nothing to stop someone reading over your shoulder. A privacy filter does the reverse and dims the screen slightly. Measure the panel, not the diagonal. See privacy screens and monitors.
