A Touch Screen CAS Calculator For Senior Maths

The Casio fx-CP400 ClassPad II is a programmable graphing calculator with a Computer Algebra System and a 4.8 inch colour touch screen, which Shriro describe as Casio's most advanced CAS model approved for use in Australia.

CAS means it works with symbols as well as numbers: it can expand an expression, define functions, find limits and solve equations exactly. Graphs and the expressions behind them sit on one screen, and the display turns between portrait and landscape at a key press so long formulas fit on a line. Shriro list inequalities, parametric graphs, 3D graphing and colour coded graphs that update linked tables and spreadsheets.

A Statistics application handles list data, graphs, regression, tests, confidence intervals and distributions, and a Financial application covers money calculations. Input is by stylus or finger on the backlit touch panel. A USB cable is included for moving work to and from a computer, and power comes from replaceable AAA batteries with up to 100 hours of life, per Shriro.
