Which Spirax do I need? Spirax books are named by number, so start with the type:

• A4 spiral notebooks: the 595A 240 page for heavy use, the recycled A4 120 page suits lighter use, and the 5-subject 596C keeps several topics in one book.
• Binder books (hole-punched for folders): 121 (A4, 96 page) and 127 (A4, 128 page).
• Exercise books for school: choose by ruling, from 8mm lines for older students to dotted-thirds such as the P116 18mm for early handwriting.
• Grid and graph books: 131 (5mm grid) or 267 (192 page) for maths and science.
• Kode: bright covers in A4, A5 and pocket sizes, like the Kode A4 120 page.
• Platinum: premium notebooks and journals, like the Platinum A5 200 page.
• Writing pads: the 411 A4 writing pad.

Worth separating the two halves. General notebooks come down to binding and paper weight, since spiral opens flat and thin stock shows writing through from behind. Business and record books are bought on the printed ruling instead, because the columns have to match the record being kept, and a book that nearly fits gets abandoned by the second entry.
