Raw Sienna, a honey-gold earth colour for warm landscapes

A 250ml Chromacryl Raw Sienna jar gives students a soft, honey-tan earth colour for sand, wheat fields and warm skin-adjacent tones.

The swatch is a golden tan, close to honey or light ochre, with a coppery look in the thin textured strokes. The jar paint looks a little more yellow-beige through the clear wall. Chroma prints Raw Sienna on the band below Medium Bodied and Students Acrylic. Teachers often put one jar in the middle of a small group exploring natural earth tones.

Raw Sienna gives a gentle warmth to beaches, dry grass and timber that brighter yellows cannot. Sharing a 250ml jar keeps the sand or wheat in every painting on the table the same colour, and the lid screws back down between lessons.

It pairs naturally with Burnt Sienna and other Chromacryl earth colours, canvas boards and the wider painting supplies range. Its soft tan also works as a toned ground under brighter colours on a board.
