Gold Oxide, a warm ochre-orange earth tone
Chromacryl Gold Oxide in a 250ml jar offers a warm, rusty ochre-orange for desert scenes, outback landscapes and autumn work.
The swatch reads as a tan-orange earth colour, somewhere between ochre and rust, with a coppery look where it is brushed thin. Its jar label shows Gold Oxide beneath Medium Bodied and Students Acrylic, and the orange paint is visible through the jar. A 250ml quantity suits a small group exploring earth colours together.
Earthy oranges like this give red-centre landscapes, autumn leaves and terracotta pots a natural look without students having to blend browns and oranges themselves. One jar per group keeps every painting on the table in the same family of tones.
Gold Oxide fits with other earth colours in the Chromacryl acrylic range, with canvas and paper surfaces and with palettes and accessories for shared work. Laying a warm ground first and painting over it gives outback scenes a glow that students enjoy discovering.
