Nine of the fifteen P-touch machines we stock: the PT-P700, PT-P710BT, PT-D610BT, PT-P750W, PT-E560BTVP, PT-P900W, PT-E920BT, PT-P910BT and PT-P950NW. It will not fit the PT-E310BTVP or the PT-D460BT, which top out at 18mm, and it will not fit the PT-H105, PT-D210, PT-P300BT or PT-E110VP, which top out at 12mm. The PT-E310BTVP catches people out most often, because it is a capable industrial machine that simply does not go this wide.

Eight metres per cassette, which is the standard length across the laminated TZe range in every width from 6mm to 36mm. How many labels that gives you depends on the length of each label.

Brother immersed the laminated tape in water and in five per cent salt solution for 30 days at 40 degrees. The labels stayed attached and the print was unaffected. It also came through solvents, acids, alkalis and industrial cutting oils without the print discolouring.

The print holds up. Brother ran 478 hours of simulated sunlight, roughly a year outdoors, and the characters on every colour remained legible. Background colours fade at different rates though, with red, yellow and clear shifting far more than black, white, green and blue. For long term outdoor signage, black on white is the safer choice.

Brother has tested the laminated tape from minus 80 degrees through to plus 150 degrees Celsius. That is survival testing over set periods rather than a continuous operating rating, and Brother notes the laminate may separate, discolour or shrink under sustained extreme heat.

Brother does not describe it as permanent. It is an acrylic adhesive that Brother says can be removed from most materials with relative ease, leaving little or no residue. If you need a genuinely aggressive bond, look at the TZe-S strong adhesive range instead.

Yes. This is a genuine Brother cassette, not a compatible. Third party cassettes are a common cause of print head and cutter problems, and using them can affect a machine warranty claim.
